Our story begins in 1985 with a dream to establish a world-class factory back when our founder Mr Koh San Joo worked as a Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineer. Entering the logistics industry in 1994, Mr. Koh realized that the industry grossly lagged behind its industrial peers in areas like operating processes, digitalization, IT systems, and systems integration with customers’ supply chains. Additionally, the poor operating environment was unattractive to employees, made worse by poor salary and career opportunities. This contributed to the sector’s unflattering image that is further exacerbated by poor profit margins typical in logistics as compared to other industries.
Seeing the critical importance of logistics in relation to the supply chain, Mr. Koh saw a ripe opportunity for major transformation. Since many factories had already moved out of Singapore in the 1990s, he dreamt of building a world-class logistics company instead. Thus, iHub Solutions was born.
Our company philosophy focuses on bringing benefits to clients, employees, and the environment. That’s why we love problems. Problems motivate us to ideate creative solutions and it provides the mental stimulation that ensures working in iHub is never boring. This push for creativity drives why we invest in our employees and seek to continuously expand their skill sets. With an empowered team, we are then able to develop solutions that help our customers reduce overall supply chain costs, increase logistical performance, and cut out mundane work for their staff.
We believe that a healthy environment is vital to both our staff welfare and caring for the earth. Therefore, over the past few years, we have heavily implemented green processes with the use of CO2 reduction technologies.
When iHub Solutions first started providing physical logistics services in 2003, there were more than 10,000 logistics companies in Singapore. To differentiate ourselves as an unknown startup, we decided to specialise in doing the difficult. By developing smart digital systems, we are able to perform an array of intricate tasks from intense event-driven data tracking to sophisticated integrations. If you have a complex logistics problem, chances are, we have the solution for it! With a strong combination of both physical infrastructure (vehicles/warehouses) and digital capabilities, iHub stands out as a LogTech (Logistics Technology) enabler. As we look forward to exploring the use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, our dream continues to expand.
